Confidentiality & Consent

Data for the MISO Survey is collected via an online survey and participation by faculty, students, and staff is voluntary.  No compensation will be given to anyone participating in the survey.  Survey responses will be confidential, though not necessarily anonymous.  Data from all participants will be reported in the aggregate. Each participating institution’s raw data will be supplied to its Campus Survey Administrator (CSA).  Before participating in the survey, respondents must view a consent screen.

Thank you for your participation in the MISO Survey. This survey investigates how students, faculty, and staff use and evaluate library and computing services at [Name of College]. The MISO Survey, first developed at Bryn Mawr College, will provide information to the leadership at [Name of College] so that they may better understand your use of library and information technology services. Results from the study will be compared with responses from approximately forty other similar institutions and used by [Name of College] to improve the services you receive.

Your responses are confidential and will be used only in the aggregate or, if you give specific comments, anonymously. The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. No compensation will be given to anyone participating in the survey. Data from all participants will be reported in the aggregate. Each participating institution’s raw data will be supplied to its Campus Survey Administrator (CSA).
